Proposal to sell 60% of Wasaga Beach

While the amendments to the PPCRA are currently unspecified, the proposal suggests to "remove portions of Wasaga Beach." Half of the land includes beaches, environmentally sensitive dunes, and endangered species, which would be jeopardized if the removal is approved. Not only does this proposal endanger the integrity of the beach's ecosystems and biodiversity, but it sets a dangerous precedent of harming other provincially owned lands in the interest of short-term economic growth.
